What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile details needed to create and secure your account. We also store the pen name you choose, your story contributions, saved stories, reports, moderation requests and decisions, writing allowances, and basic timestamps connected with those actions.

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is HTTP-only, secure in production, and unavailable to client-side scripts. We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal information.

How we use information

We use account information to authenticate you, apply writing limits, attribute contributions to your pen name, preserve your reading list, prevent abuse, respond to reports, and administer the community. Your email address is visible to site administrators where needed to manage your account, but it is not displayed publicly.

Automated moderation

Submitted sentences and pen names are checked using local rules and Cloudflare Workers AI. The automated check receives the submitted sentence and public pen name; it does not receive your email address, Google credentials, or account identifier. A flagged submission may be held for human review. Automated screening can make mistakes, so you can request another review from your account.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts the site, database, session infrastructure, and automated safety checks. Google provides sign-in. Those providers process information under their own privacy terms. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics services.

Public contributions

Published sentences and your pen name are public and may be read or shared by anyone. Avoid putting private information in your pen name or writing. Drafts kept only in your browser remain on that device unless you submit them.

Retention and security

We retain account records and contributions for as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and moderate the site. Some moderation and administrative records may be retained to prevent repeated abuse. We use access controls and server-side sessions, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time, change your pen name within the stated limit, and ask us to correct or delete account information by emailing accounts@nextsentence.club. Published collaborative writing may need to be retained, anonymized, or replaced to preserve the surrounding story and moderation records.

Children and changes

Next Sentence Club is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date.
